The overall mission of the IrEMS is to generate and communicate National and International scientific information based upon current research and best scientific practice. The mission of IrEMS is cooperation with executive, scientific and research organs in the field of assessment, review, and implementation of projects and plans related to Environmental Mutagens. This information will enable the society to:
- Develop an understanding of the mutational basis of human diseases in Iran, the environmental effects, and human risk for genetic-related disease resulting from mutational induced events.
- Promote science-based risk assessment activities and regulatory policies on issues of environmental and human health;
- Facilitate national and international agreement on acceptable methodologies and technologies in these fields.
- Provide education and training to scientists towards these ends, and promote informed public awareness on issues of the mutational basis of human disease and risk.
- Promote collaborative research at the national and international level on the mutational basis of human disease, new methodologies and technologies in the field, and the application of new information to the risk assessment process.
- Conducting scientific and cultural research in national and international levels, with researchers and specialists who are involved in environmental mutation.
- Cooperation 'with executive, scientific and research organs in the field of assessment, review, and implementation of projects and plans related to training and research in the scientific field of the Society.
- Encouraging researchers and appreciating top researchers and scholars in the field of environmental mutagens.
- Offering training, research, and technical services in the field of environmental mutagens.
- Holding scientific conferences in the national, regional, and international levels.
- Publishing specialized books ,Journal and newsletters of the Society after obtaining relevant permits.
